The Kendun matrix indicates that the plate was mastered at Kendun

Kendun Recorders was a legendary, state-of-the-art mastering studio based in Burbank, California, famously used by artists like Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, and Tower of Power.

  • During the late 1970s global vinyl boom, British pressing plants were so overwhelmed with demand that they frequently imported pre-cut lacquer masters or metal stampers directly from top-tier US studios to expedite production.

  • This matrix layout confirms that this hybrid UK reissue actually utilizes elite, dynamic US audio mastering plates on at least one side. Audiophiles actively hunt down "Kendun cuts" because the sound separation and low-end bass punch are vastly superior to standard UK cuts.
