Matrix variant A1/B1: A//1 and B//1 matrices
Amended matrices -stamped 588171 (with 2nd '8' crossed out and '7'-amended to '8' hand etched)on both sides-however side 2 has a different amendment in terms of the '7' changed to an '8' and possibly just means a different master disc was used for the B side the B//1 matrix simply ends in and extra '1' whereas similar pressings have '1' followed by '1' and other random other numbers/symbols
Looks like someone got their knickers in a twist-clearly thought they ought to amend the '8' to a '7' and having done so realised that there was NO NEED to do so and re-amended it to an '8' !
Any other explanation ?

Disc has been well played and there is some light background noise in the quieter bits and a few odd ligtht clicks but otherwise a very strong sound
Cover variant OR/SILV: cover is the 1st issue orange lettering with the silver bottom strip and 'Led Zeppelin' at the very top
This strip was caused by incorrectly setting the folding too high and therefore pushing the name too high and bringing up the otherwise invisible silver strip
This was amended shortly after to bring down the name and disappear the strip
see other listings for many variants
The cover is intact but has the usual thumb and edge creases but overall very decent
Spine lettering excellent except very tiny tiny tiny wear on the 2nd '8'
