Unusual issue: Curious CBS/Philips hybrid ?
Matrix #: SBPG 62251-A4 and SBPG 62252 B4 CBS matrix normally no prefix letters just the 62251
Disc : EX- lovely and shiny but has a some light sleeve scuffs
Cover: Front laminated with 3 flap Mono sleeve with '62251' catalogue # front and back-oddly the front logo appears to have corrected artwork as there is a clear panel showing as though the original artwork has been pasted over with a smaller logo box compared to earlier issues
Slight edge and thumb creasing and left top corner-slight wear left bottom corner-tiny crease
Back cover flaps have slight staining where the lamination stops {open edge top and bottom and here and there along each flap} and very small tear (bottom) and a few small indents underneath '4 outlined epitaphs' and a few very small cover marks
with gold stereo sticker on back of cover and 'Record Sleeve Printed and Made by Dawson Rossiter Ltd.' at the bottom.
Spine: EX+
Label and disc appear to be a Philips pressing with a strange indented double circle in the centre of the label and 1Y and 2Y catalogue #'s on the label and with the SBPG prefix in the matrix.
Don't know ! Here it is !
This release seems to have the 2nd pressing label with an unknown early cover as it has the amended front logo BUT has the 'Dawson Rossiter' credit and the gold sticker !!!!
Probably from 1965-the issues credited to 1964 with this label must be incorrect as the label colour and paper seem incorrect for 1964 where normally the paper would be rough or slightly rough textured paper.
The curiosities are the amended logo and the 1Y/2Y label #'s and the SBPG in the matrix # which suggest a CBS amended cover c.1965 and a Philips pressed label/disc.
Also the curious double circle in the label middle-this appears on other Dylan labels listed elsewhere on the site.
